Taken during a phenomenal burst of this incredible natural wonder! Over the last couple of years we have had a period of increased activity from the sun called “solar maximum” - a period of peak activity within the Sun's ~11-year solar cycle, marked by a high number of sunspots, increased solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and heightened space weather. During this time, the Sun's magnetic field flips its poles, leading to more frequent and intense displays of auroras on Earth.
I simply could not believe what i was seeing! An incredible night (well, early early morning!!!)
