Yeadon Aurora
2024 saw a few nights of intense aurora activity. I had never even managed to see this natural light show until this year! This shot shows the famous northern lights above Yeadon Banks, at the northern end of the runway at Leeds Bradford airport looking towards the Chevin.
The Aurora Borealis is always much more vivid in photographs because cameras take in more light than our eyes do, but this show was so good you could clearly see the colours by eye. A truly wonderous spectacle! I could not believe what I was seeing!
