A gallery of my favourite shots of the Short-Eared Owls that visited the Yorkshire coastline over the winter. One of my favourite birds that I just had to make the most of in this influx year of migration! I just can’t get enough!

A local nature reserve to me, Rodley Nature reserve is a wetland habitat on the outskirts of Leeds. I spent a couple of hours there with my camera despite the rain showing that photography can still be achieved despite the weather!

Just into the county of Suffolk lies the former arable land of Lakenheath Fen. What used to be carrot fields has been transformed by the RPSB into vast wetlands and woodlands boasting stunning and rare wildlife. The last stop on my weekend wildlife trip!

During a short wildlife break to north Norfolk, I was only 20 minutes away from RSPB Titchwell Marsh, a nature reserve with varied habitats such as fresh water lagoons, saltmarshes, coastal and reedbed. A hive of insect activity in summer and an important breeding site for Avocet, Bittern and Bearded Tits…

One of the UK’s major wildlife spectacles occurs only a few times a year on the north Norfolk coast at Snettisham. Famed for its winter “Whirling Wader” spectaculars which only happen at super high tide events. I tried one of these dates in the summer as part of a wildlife weekend away!
